Field Experience:

3.4 Use school data to design a staff development activity for a department or school. *

Narrative Explanation:

In November of last year, data was collected from English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher Leaders via survey and feedback forms regarding the type of professional development they feel they need to be more effective in their teaching and impact student achievement.  The teachers identified that they needed additional professional development in differentiating small group instruction because this was a source of weakness for them.  The solicited help in understanding flexible small grouping, skills-based lessons, and comprehension in small group.

In January of this year, I presented in two sessions (whole group and kindergarten break out) to district ELA teacher leaders regarding small group instruction.  The attached power points were used during the presentations to the department teacher leaders.
