2(c)2.(i) - to coach staff and teachers on the evaluation of student performance

 

Field Experience:

4.6 Intern will demonstrate writing, speaking, and listening skills. Assist principal with the preparation for a faculty meeting. Intern will make at least one presentation to the faculty concerning an issue identified by the principal (include summary). Intern will use available technology during preparation for and completion of the presentation. *

Narrative Explanation:

During the months of October and November I, along with my administrators, looked at classroom data (reading levels, Global Scholar Data, and classroom lesson plans) and discovered that we were lacking in small group reading lessons and lesson planning in general.  Our teachers were uncomfortable with small group reading and therefore, they struggled.  My administrators decided to address these concerns during our December faculty meeting and I assisted.  They provided suggestions about what to look for in your students and then I spoke about the expectations of the reading block, the importance of planning, and how the only way to move your students is to be intentional.  I offered insight on expectations from the County, our school, curriculum requirements, and the purpose of planning for instruction.

The attached agenda is evidence of meeting standard 4.6, presenting to the faculty concerning an issue identified by the principal.
