Standard:

2(e)2.(i) - to address student and family conditions affecting learning

 

Field Experience:

7.3 Review all information gathered concerning student attendance. Analyze data to determine any areas of concern. Prepare a list of possible actions including additional sanctions and reward systems that could address these concerns. Present the suggestions to the individual responsible for attendance. *

The attached documents featuring attendance profiles are documentation of 7.3.  Attendance was reviewed for the entire school using iNow data and the attached data provided to the principals at their county-wide principal's meeting focusing on attendance by school.  Attendance profiles were then reviewed for students struggling with attendance (such as the one attached).  Students who were struggling with attendance (4 or more absences) were marked to have attendance conferences with myself and the assistant principal as well as the parents.  In the conferences, the parents were briefed on acceptable attendance procedures, unexcused absences, and the prevention of early warning court.  Strategies for individual students and families were also discussed (including taking unexcused trips).
